Birgit and Amadou made our stay unforgettable! When we arrived, we were a bit worried we had ended up in a very touristy area, which wasn’t what we were looking for. They immediately understood and gave us great tips on how to get around like locals by taxi and bus, as well as recommendations for local places and restaurants.Right outside the accommodation there are two excellent local restaurants, we ate there every day for both lunch and dinner, absolutely delicious. Breakfast at the accommodation was also outstanding. The location is excellent: perfect if you want to be close to everything, but also ideal as a base to explore other parts of The Gambia, as all connections are nearby. Amadou picked us up from the bus station when we arrived from Senegal and drove us to the airport when we left, very flexible and perfectly organized. The place itself is amazing: spacious, airy, comfortable, and located on a calm, safe street right in the center.Thank you Birgit and Amadou!Posted on Airbnb![]()

I had a wonderful 3-night stay at this guesthouse in Kololi. The room was clean, comfortable, and close to everything — beach, restaurants, and attractions. The location is perfect for tourists and easy to get around. The host , Birgit and her husband were welcoming and made my stay smooth and enjoyable.Posted on Airbnb![]()

Birgit and Amadou are excellent hosts with a great space for guests. Breakfasts each morning were well prepared, the house is cleaned daily, and Amadou was helpful for driving me to and from the airport and even to some of my tour sites. They are very hospitable and helped leave a good impression of the Gambia for me. Would stay here again!Posted on Airbnb![]()

My stay at Room 27 was great! The location was just right for going to the nearby restaurants, the monkey park and the various beaches. It was quiet and peaceful at night and the bed was very comfortable. Hot water was available for showers and there is an option to get a good, full breakfast with juice and coffee for a small fee. Amadou was able to pick me up at the airport and take me back a few days later at very late hours so I didn't have to try to figure out other means of transportation. He was also available to drive me to and from the local beaches which I really appreciated. Very nice stay and very nice people. I definitely recommend staying here. As a woman traveling alone I felt very safe.Posted on Airbnb![]()

Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. I stayed in The Gambia for 5 months, and for 4 of those months I lived at Guesthouse Kololi, Room 27. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The room is very spacious and well-ventilated, making it super comfortable. The hosts, Birgit and Amadou, are such kind and easygoing landlords who make you feel welcome. Since electricity in The Gambia can sometimes be unreliable, they even provided a rechargeable fan for use during outages, which was a lifesaver. One of my favorite parts of staying here was the dog, Gangster, who quickly became my best friend. Sometimes he’d even peek into my room just to check on me, which was really sweet. The location is excellent, right near the Kololi main road with lots of restaurants nearby, offering everything from Asian to African to Middle Eastern food. They also have a car available for rides or airport transfers at a reasonable price. The cleaner came daily unless you asked otherwise. I preferred to have my room cleaned when I was out, usually twice a day, which worked perfectly. The house also has a safe deposit box, cupboard space, and a very clean kitchen with complete utensils. I even bought a rice cooker at first, only to realize they already had one, so definitely check the utensils before buying anything. They also keep bottled water available downstairs, which is super convenient since walking far to buy water in the heat is not ideal. Overall, it’s a perfect place to stay in The Gambia, especially since it’s close to both Senegambia and Kololi. Comfortable, well-located, and run by genuinely nice people, I highly recommend it.Posted on Google![]()

I spent 5 great nights here as a solo traveller. 1600D / night for a big room with fan and private bathroom. The German owner was so nice to me and helped with trip ideas and laundry. 200D for a great breakfast of egg, bread, butter, fruit, tea/coffee, and maybe some yoghurt. The gate may be locked, so call ahead to avoid having to knock loudly.Posted on Google![]()

Birgit and Amadou run this guesthouse and they are the best and kindest hosts. The rooms are bright, spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed and simply amazing breakfasts. It was a pleasure to stay here for five nights. Perfectly located to make trips into Banjul or day trips out to Kunta Kinteh Island or Galloya. Will only stay here on return trips to the Gambia. Highly recommended!Posted on Google![]()

Beautiful, quiet and familiar place with individual and personal care. Facilities one of the best I have seen in Westafrica. The delicious breakfast, help with organising tours and the quite and cosy terrace are only a few of the highlights. Close to the beach, the Senegambia Strip and next door of famous local Restaurant "Kaddie Kaddie". Highly recommended.Posted on Google![]()

This is a very nice place to stay for short or long term, holiday or business trip. Quiet and safe, just a 10 minutes walk from the hectic Senegambia strip or the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable priced.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
